Fishing has slowed down slightly, but anglers are still managing to catch full or part limits from the boats.This week's rod average is a still good 3.06.
Vince Brooks's Annual Bosses Day Charity Competition took place on Saturday 28 October. 83 anglers caught 218 trout. The winner was Christian Jadouille from Belgium with 7 fish for 14lb 12oz. Over £1000 was raised. Some of the proceeds will be used to buy a much needed second seat for the new Wheelyboat and the remainder is to be donated to the Liver Trust.
The Belgian Open Pairs Competition took place the following day. Winners were Graham Pearson and Lee Henfrey. (We are still awaiting result details).
Best areas for boats - the Cages, end of Hook Straight and Dunsters.
Bank fishing is slowly improving. Best areas are Bramble Point, Ferry Point and the Dam Wall.
Fish are still high in the water and successful flies have been Daddies, Hoppers, Minkies and Boobies.
Winners of the prize draw for October are 1st Stuart White, 2nd Derek Leigh and 3rd Peter Beeny.
