Mixed fortunes this week, with some anglers finding the fishing difficult and others catching their 8 fish limits. Fry feeding has continued in the margins and the fish have remained near the surface and at times dries such as Daddies and Hoppers have been successful. Best areas for boats were the Main Bowl, the Cages and the end of Hook Straight while bank anglers have reported catching from the Dam Wall. Successful flies are much the same as last week - fry patterns, Minkies, Boobies and Cat's Whiskers plus dries such as Daddies and Hoppers. Although the water has cooled down to 17.8c, at this time of the year it can fluctuate and 1 or 2 days of hot weather can easily bring it back to over 20c, so catch and release remains suspended until water temperatures are falling consistently.
Bewl is 67% full.
