Reports

12/08/10
With more favorable weather conditions and the water temperatures reducing a little we have seen an increase in the rod average to 3.0 this week. Although the fishing has still been tough many enjoyable days have been had and some fair size fish caught. A number of fish have been caught in deeper areas with the middle of the reservoir fishing well before and after the other water users have come out to play. Some anglers have still caught on the surface using buzzers and hoppers.

Rod Average
The rod average for last week was 3.0 with 157 fish caught by 52 anglers.

Best Rainbow/Brown
The best rainbow was caught by John Hill this week weighing in at 4lb caught on a cats whisker, using a sinking line in the centre of the reservoir. The largest brown caught was also caught by John Hill it weighed 3lb, caught on an orange blob near Sitch plantation.

Top Spots
The top fishing areas this week were Shiningford Creek, Fishtail creek, Dam Wall, Number 4 & 8 buoy, Sailing Club & Watersports Island & the centre of the reservoir.

Method & Flies
Successful flies included boobies, blobs, damsels nymphs, black tadpole, cats whiskers, invicta, bibio, hoppers and montana patterns. We are trying to keep most of these patterns in stock for you to buy at the reception when collecting your permits.
