We need, you to pledge your support now by signing up to fish the event (First come first Served) and help us realise our target of £10,000 that will go to the ‘Help for Heroes’ Charity which helps our wounded troops returning from the various theatres of war our country is involved in.

As part of the event Anglian Water have enlisted the help of nine superstars of flyfishing who you can bid to fish with on the day. They include: World Champion, Iain Barr; Author, artist and casting guru, Charles Jardine; Most capped England International, John Horsey; England Loch-Style Team Manager, Craig Barr; Welsh International, Gareth Jones; England Ladies International, Martha Thomson; Total Flyfisher magazine Editor, Steve Cullen, TV personality, John Wilson and England International Simon Kidd. This is your chance to spend the day fishing with one of the UK’s top fly fishers. It couldn’t be easier. All you need to do is make a bid and send it (minimum reserve £120 which includes inclusive cost of entry) along with the name of the angler you would like to fish with from the above list and your contact telephone number to: Fish with the Superstars, Rutland Water Fishing Lodge, Edith Weston, Oakham, Rutland LE15 8HD.
Telephone: 01780 686441 Fax: 01780 686440. The sealed envelopes will be opened on 1 May 2010 and the highest bid for each angler will be taken. The winners will be notified by telephone (don’t forget to add your telephone number on your bid or we won’t be able to contact you).

The Anglian Water ‘Helping the Heroes’ Pairs Flyfishing Competition will be fished to Rutland Water fishery rules. The competition is a ‘Pairs’ event with each paring fishing together. If you are attending without a partner the organisers will allocate a pairing for you. Ruddering will not be permitted but anchoring will be allowed. The competition will have a 16 fish to the boat limit including four brown trout only. There will be no time bonus in place so if you have caught 16 fish to the boat you must return to the boat pontoon. You are required to fish to the fishery rules and fishing limits, you must leave at least 50 yards between your boat and bank anglers. The event will have a gun start at 10.00hrs and last for six hours. Boats are to be tied up at the pontoon by 16.00hrs. The weigh-in will start at 16.05hrs and you will be required to weigh in by teams (2). It would be appreciated if you would donate your fish to the appeal. Anglian Water will sell the fish onto private organisations and donate all proceedings to the appeal. There will be a Barbeque-Style Buffet served at the Castaways restaurant, followed by the Presentations, Star Raffle and Charity Auction, with former England International goalkeeper David Seaman helping with the auction, so please bid generously.

It is hoped that all competitors entering the competition will attempt to raise additional funds through sponsorship (Official sponsor forms will be provided to all entrants). Trophies and prizes for top 3 pairs with additional prizes for 4th to 10th place. Best Fish, Smallest Fish and for the pair with the Lowest Weight. Special prizes will be awarded to the top-three individual fund-raisers. Entry fees including fishing costs and post match meal £120 per pair. Competitors are also requested to donate an item for the Raffle/Charity Auction to be held prior to the prize giving ceremony.
